This weekend I went ice climbing with Martin Ploug in Kandersteg, Switzerland. It was a bit late in the season and everything was falling apart, but we managed a few good routes anyway.
The waterfalls we climbed are visible on the wall to the right.
Pingu (WI5+) consisted of a mixed pitch at the beginning and then this wide pillar of ice.
We did this pillar on Sunday, before the long drive home.
Martin on the pitch leading up to the pillar.
This was the last training trip before I go to Nepal and I feel strong and mentally ready for this expedition. I know from Jim that he is also keen on pushing the boundaries for our alpine experience, so it will be very interesting to see how far we can go!
