I train in various ways for the mountains. Apart from running I do some indoor bouldering, primarily roof climbing at the local climbing club (NKK), to build core strength and endurance:
(Note the weight belts around my ankles to simulate having boots and crampons on)
Next step up is the outdoor climbing wall with wood holds at Artillerivej, for pure endurance:
(Here Hans Bruner-Osborne is near the top)
For pure power I do pull-ups on my hang board with weight in my back pack:
(It is important to write down the progress and note pain in particularly elbows, because it is too easy to get injured or over train using this method)
Finally I train in a local park (Hans Tausens Park) that has some concrete blocs made for climbing:
(This is excellent technique training as the small edges act much is the same way as real rock and requires good balance to climb on)
