Slide show from Nepal

I finally managed to put together a slide show from Nepal that can be found here.

It's always nice to have these shows for lectures, because they give a good impression of that it's like to be on an expedition (and they give you a break from talking).

Now I'm back home in Denmark and have sorted my photos in a gallery that can be found here.

It was a really good climbing trip and we had a lot of great experiences in the mountains. The culture of Nepal was also very interesting to see and of course the sherpa people of the Khumbu Valley were fantastic.

It is definitely a place that I can recommend and will visit again.

Jim left Kathmandu today, but I still have a few days until I go home. The internet is quite slow, but I thought I would share two really cool photos from Ama Dablam to kill some time.



Jim on one of the initial rock slabs before Camp 2. The dry winter had left the rock free of ice and giving some very fine climbing on excelent granite.

Attempt on Cholatse

We are now in Namche Bazar and heading back to Kathmandu soon.

 

After Ama Dablam we spent a few days resting and then carried your gear over to Dughla at the foot of Cholatse. We were running out of time, so we knew that we only had one attempt on Cholatse.

We started from the the house at 3 in the night at began the climbing around 6 in the morning. While I was leading the first pitch a huge spindrift avalanche roared close by and nearly covered Jim, but we kept going...
